Storyline:
Following a faint trail of clues, the accomplished archaeologist, Doctor Elizabeth Shaw, and her partner, Charlie Holloway, along with a seventeen-man crew, embark on an ambitious, deep-space scientific expedition. Aboard the revolutionary space-exploration starship, USCSS Prometheus, the team sets foot on the rocky terrain of the desolate exomoon, LV-223, in 2093, to investigate the existence of the superior extraterrestrial species known as the "Engineers". But, there, inside a mysterious, complex structure of cavernous dark chambers and an intricate underground system of tunnels, more enigmas await. Now, a terrifying discovery threatens not only the outcome of the bold outer-space mission but also the very future of humankind. Is the world prepared for the answers to the fundamental questions of human existence?

This is why i love Ridley Scott Visiosn , what he did in PROMETHEUS is opened a new door of Alien Universe exploration , hopefully in coming sequels that will follow that explorations .

Everything was in place to make this a real classic. The scenes are breathtaking and i will remember the movie for it's reality, something that Scott does brilliantly. Maybe the subject was just too big because the notion of someone getting together billions of pounds to make a spacecraft and travel huge distances on the strenght of a few badly drawn stars in caves spread across the world and cultures wasn't that credible and the film seemed to implode from that point in. Watch the movie, the world it created was superb, just wished the participants were a little more 3 dimensional. Got the feeling a sequel would help make this a better movie, by explaining it's shortfalls.

Brilliant special effects, a thought-provoking concept and great acting, but I felt the plot and script were weak - the characters were 2-dimensional, and soooooo stupid! Many unanswered questions leave a gaping hole to fit a sequel into, and the various nods to the Alien movies helped to tie it into the overall "package". I'm looking forward to the next one... but I hope they smarten up the plot and script!
