Pixar never fails to make a great movie that everyone can enjoy! It has very funny parts and even parts that can make you cry. Such a great story! There was no one in the theatre that didnt laugh and/or cry at some point. They even did an outstanding job with the 3D aspect of it! It attracted all different ages and thats really hard to do. Its honestly an all around good movie and i wouldnt change a thing. Go see it you definitely wont be dissapointed.

I think that it was difficult to market this movie without telling too much up front so I didn't think it sounded all that great. But it is an extraordinary piece of work that has an emotional component that is far beyond what I expected. A heartfelt, heartbreaking, funny, delightful and ultimately utterly satisfying film -- the more so for being so unexpected. I think the problem is that in marketing this film, Pixar really couldn't tell too much lest the audience miss the element of discovery of the story -- and a little coda at the end that is so lovely it can't be described -- it has to be seen. And I will say that I cried more the second time than the first and I really didn't expect that. BUT -- unless you're a child who might be enchanted by 3-D, do not see it in that format -- it's terribly distracting and it's a disservice to the movie to take away from its heartfult and emotionally satisfying story. This is a classic for the ages.

This is an "A" level family film but be aware that there are moments that address people growing old, dreams that are never realized, loved ones dying (the old wife), lost relationships with a father (the boy's), and other issues that might require holding your little person's hand. My kids 11 and 12 enjoyed this. I am 40 and I enjoyed it. We laughed, we cried, we didn't get impatient for an ending, the plot was predictable but pleasant, and it was really good to take my kids to something that was "Family-Friendly". Take a kleenex, and one for your kid too. Well worth the ticket price and everyone can appreciate something and some character in this movie. It touches the American experience we all share in some way. It definitely earns an "A" for a well done film. Worth the ticket price. Worth owning on DVD. GO SEE IT ALREADY!

I didn't really want to see this movie, but the only movie we could agree to see. Very touching and poignant. Well made- I was pleasantly surprised and glad I saw it.

MOVIES REVIEWER

I just attended the advance press preview of this FANTASTIC 104-min fantasy - the first 3-D animated movie by PIXAR. Just when I thought PIXAR couldn't get any better - comes along this breathtakingly GORGEOUS, genuinely FUNNY LOVINGLY crafted movie for both kids AND adults. The attention to detail and texture is AMAZING - a compelling delicious fine-dining smorgasbord for our eyes to feast on! Major themes: loss/death, importance of keeping promises, spirit of exploration, loyalty, aging, and compassion - with a serious jab at 'eminent domain'. The story is bright and substance-RICH in complexity - warmth suffusing almost every scene - with thought-provoking messages. The jokes/funny-scenes were fresh and had the audience laughing-out-loud non-stop during the entire movie. The frog(alarm) had me in stitches! Animated short at beginning was delightfully charming. VERDICT: UP is the epitome of the HIGHEST QUALITY entertainment. A MUST-SEE - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
