It Came from Outer Space (1953)
John Putnam is a writer and an amateur stargazer with a new home out in the beautiful Arizona desert, which he enjoys with Ellen Fields, his girlfriend and a local schoolteacher. John is not trusted by the people of the small town near where he lives, certainly not by Sheriff Matt Warren, who feels protective of Ellen, and perhaps something more. One night, John and Ellen see a meteor crash in the desert. John drags his friend, Pete, out of bed to take him over to the crash site in his helicopter. Once there, John climbs down into the crater. Unfortunately, he does so alone, as Pete and Ellen wait for him. John is the only one who sees the spaceship before a landslide covers it. And John is the only one who catches a glimpse of the hideous thing inside. At first John's story seems mad, until some of the townsfolk begin acting strange - as if they aren't really who they seem to be.

Pleasantville (1998)
David, single, lonely and not happy with his life, flees reality by watching Pleasantville - a 1950's b&w soap opera, where everything is just that... pleasant. His sister Jennifer, sexually far more active than her brother, gets in a fight with him about a very strange remote control. The remote was given to them just seconds after the TV broke, by an equally strange repair man. They suddenly find themselves in Pleasantville, as Bud and Mary-Sue Parker, completely assimilated and therefore black and white, in clothes a little different and with new parents... pleasant ones. David wants to get out of the situation as well as his sister, but whereas he tries to blend in (effortlessly, with his knowledge), she does whatever she wants to do. One event leads to the other, and suddenly there is a red rose growing in Pleasantville. The more rules are broken, the more colorful life gets in Pleasantville, USA.
The Film is a Fantastic historical account of skate boarding in the 70's. If you were in the Santa Monica, Huntington Beach area at the time you know. I think it's a shame the owner of "The Dog Bowl Pool" is just briefly mentioned as "The kid with head cancer". The Dog Bowl Pool was the epitome of the Z Boys and Dogtown, and the owner that let them ride, is "Some kid with cancer". I believe he deserved a little more recognition and to be remembered for his donation of the pool.

Like its predecessor, this no-holds-barred sequel from Hong Kong - a piece of ultra-exploitation adapted from the famed 17th century Chinese novel The Plum in the Golden Vase - attained instant notoriety for layering on graphic violence and sex in copious quantities. In the prior installment, Qing had sex with a virginal nun, then bedded a concubine, Lotus (Serina Hayakawa) and conspired with her to rub out her dwarf husband, Wu Da-Lang (Ng Chi-Hung). This time around, Simon ostensibly still has relationships with both of the said women but has regressed into a sex addict with fetishistic leanings. As the story unfurls, he attempts to ravish many more women, including his friend Hua Xizu's (Tam Kon-Chung) wife Pinky (Kaera Uehara), whose husband he plans to murder while he's at it. At about the same time, Wu Song (Wu Qing-Zhe), the brother of the murdered Wu Da-Lang, schemes to off Simon. Simon sees it coming but doesn't count on Wu ...
