You NEED to watch Casino Royale before seeing Quantum Solace to fully understand whats going on. The movie takes place right were the last one left off...with Bond finding Mr. White and continuing the rampage, bent on vengeance, they led up to in the last movie. There will be no special gadgets or super slick transforming cars! But that's OK because when you're a trained assassin on a killing spree you won't need much...a shard of glass or anything lying around with a pointy edge will do. This is definitely a more gritty but sophisticated version of Bonds that relies on you being a fan of the last movie AND having an attention span big enough to listen to all the dialog between action sequences. A MUST GO for fans of the last one and GO for Bond fans in general because you don't have to understand the details to enjoy the destruction that follows a P.O.'d Bonds.

MOVIES REVIEWER

This evening I was privileged to attend the advance press screening of the 106-minute 22nd. chapter of the James Bond franchise starring Daniel Craig in his second triumphant appearance as the British secret agent. Directed by Marc Forster, Quantum of Solace/QOS is violently intense, chair-gripping, and action-packed - despite the average plot (as compared to Bond movies of the past). Editing is uneven but palatable. The engaging first fifteen minutes should please the most die-hard action fan. Although QOS is a top-notch production overall, I miss the finesse and polish of Casino Royale. Dame Judi Dench excelled again as M - and, actually had more screen-time in this movie. Mathieu Amalric was sinister as Bond's arch-antagonist, Dominic Greene. Olga Kurylenko was ravishingly beautiful as the manipulative deceptive Camille. Gemma Arterton gave a commendable performance. Verdict: A MUST-SEE for die-hard James Bond and action fans. Highly recommended.

I would recommend this movie to any bond/action movie fan. The action scenes are great and keep you on the edge of your seat. Daniel Craig is a fantastic Bond - a great actor not just eye candy. My only criticism is that the story wasn't as well developed as Casino Royale. The film was so fast paced that I could have easily watched another 20-30 mins had they wanted to develop the plot between the action scenes. Enjoyed it overall though and can't wait for the next one!!

Overall I thought the movie was pretty good. Unfortunately I really disliked the cinematography during the action scenes. The short choppy cuts with way too close camera shots were disorienting and made it extremely difficult to follow the action. What appeared to be some incredibly good stunt driving and flying was turned in to a disorienting mess! My son also did not like the camera work and at 14 I would think that he is the target audience for that type of camera work. One of the best things about the previous Bond movie was the foot chase at the beginning of the movie. It was tough, exciting and didn't have any cg or bogus Hollywood Dukes of Hazard type of stunt work. I enjoyed Daniel Craig as Bond again and I continue to think that he is a great, gritty choice for Bond. Right now in my family he's currently running second behind Sean Connery for best Bond

I read several reviews of this movie before going to see it. Most of the reviews were correct; plenty of violence/action in this new Bond. Certainly more so when compared with Daniel Craig's Bond intro Casino Royale. Like the first, Daniel Craig's fight scenes are more realistic. He gets plenty bruised and bloodied. If compared with fight scenes that Sean Connery and Roger Moore had in their Bond films would understand. Don?t get me wrong, I still think Sean Connery is the most suave of all Bonds and Roger Moore the best wit/humor. In fact each actor has added his own flair to the character. What I thought lacking was ummm....dialogue. Most of Craig?s lines were less than 6 sentences and some of them were two/three words. Judy Dench has more dialogue then anyone in the film it seemed. I am a huge 007 fan and will still add to my collection. However, if the 007 franchise is trying to attract a new/younger fan base eventually even they will want more story, dialog, finesse. Is the new
