Storyline:
Rachel is a lawyer. When she was in law school she fell for another student, Dex, who comes from an affluent family, but she was too shy to say anything. When Dex meets her best friend Darcy, who sometimes treats her like dirt, Darcy makes a move on Dex and gets him. Eventually, they get engaged and Darcy asks Rachel to be her Maid of Honor. However, Rachel still has feelings for Dex and still can't say anything. Darcy throws her a birthday party and Dex is there. When she and Dex are alone she blurts out that she had a thing for him in college which surprised him, and after drinking a little they spend the night together. They try to forget the whole thing and agree that it means nothing. Ethan, Rachel's close friend, tells her that she'll spend her entire life regretting that if she does nothing.

this was very true to the book. i didn't get as strongly a sense of the friendship between the two women as i did in the novel, but i was prepared to be disappointed and was pleasantly surprised at liking the movie!

The movie was o.k., but the story line and direction the actors went in didn't seem to make a lot of sense. I ended up not liking some of the characters because of how they acted...I don't think that was supposed to happen.

I read the book about 2 months ago so the story was fresh in my mind. I was worried that it wouldn't match up very well (just from seeing previews since one character's role was already a little different). I went with a group of 7 girls, I think 3 of us had read the book... and I have to see we all thoroughly enjoyed it! It stayed true to the plot line for the most part (minus the one character) and it was a very cute romantic comedy. I knew what to expect so I was just waiting for it to happen, but my friends kept guessing what would happen, which is good because it wasn't THAT predictable.
The main con that I have for this movie is that it was kind of cheesy. Colin Egglesfield character came off a little too cheesy, but totally hott so it was okay. And LOVE John Krasinski and he had the funniest part.
I would NOT suggest bringing a guy to this movie, but cute with girlfriends.

Great movie!! Definitely a must see!! Loved how the characters were played out and Rachel was AMAZING!!! I can definitely see this many times and still not get sick of it!!
