Storyline:
On the day of James T. Kirk's birth, his father dies on his damaged starship in a last stand against a Romulan mining vessel looking for Ambassador Spock, who in this time, has grown on Vulcan disdained by his neighbors for his half-human heritage. 25 years later, James T. Kirk has grown into a young rebellious troublemaker. Challenged by Captain Christopher Pike to realize his potential in Starfleet, he comes to annoy academy instructors like Commander Spock. Suddenly, there is an emergency on Vulcan and the newly-commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov and even Kirk himself, thanks to Leonard McCoy's medical trickery. I went to the premier of star trek tonight. As I have never watched a star trek show in my life. The movie was awesome. I found the movie very easy to follow I did not get lost at all with it. The graphics were so awesome. even for those who have never watched a star trek show ever it is worth going to see

Thurs 4/23, although I am NOT a member of the 'professional media', tonight I was privileged to attend the exclusive press preview of this 126 min rejuvenated/updated STAR TREK franchise movie.
Visionary director J.J. Abrams's ACTION-PACKED (screenwritten by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci) origins-story EXCEEDED highest expectations!
Themes - revenge/vengeance, heroism/valor/loyalty, duty/responsibility, destiny, self-sacrifice/personal choice all skillfully woven into the riveting plot - every scene maximized.
The scope = IMMENSE! Cinematography = captivating STUNNING!
Detailed GORGEOUS set designs/make-up.
Special effects should please hardcore sci-fi movie fans!
TALENTED cast = SUPERB performances.

Sulu forgot to remove the parking brakes.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to a prescreening. It lived up to all my expectations and gave the franchise that I hold so dear the restart that it needed. Great mix of action, humor, and character stories. Very much a MUST SEE!!!

i really did not want to see it but my friend convinced me to go with her and i throughly enjoyed this movie. it had adventure,action,humor, and sad moments all in one. i was kept on my toes and never really k new what was going to happen next. and everyone in the audiance had many good laughs. overall this movie is worth seeing.
