Overall, Divergent was a really good movie. There were a few things I wish they would have kept in, and several things I think they should not have changed from the book. The main actress was decent at her role. The setting and places were wonderful and just like I imagined.

Took my daughter to see it on opening night since she is a big fan of the books. I have never read them so was not really sure what to expect. I found the movie to be very long and not a whole lot of stuff going on. I guess I expected more to be done about the Divergent angle and the society they were living in, but the movie was mostly dealing with Tris's training in her new faction. It had some good growth in the main character through out the movie, but I found I wasn't really that interested in her troubles. The end of the movie was the best part as it started to show more of the different ideals of some of the factions and what they are willing to do to gain power. It made me more interested in seeing what might happen next, if not for the hero/heroine then the society. I think they could have trimmed it down even more, but then since I was not comparing it to the book I do not know what parts were already missing and how that would affect the next 2 parts.

I liked the movie well enough. There were a lot of differences from the book. They also left out a lot of Tris & Four moments from the book that I really liked.

They did a great job translating the book to the big screen! The cast was great and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Loved it!

I saw the movie tonight, on opening night. It was okay. I've read almost all of the Divergent trilogy. The books are much better. They left out a lot of really important, juicy, details while making this movie. It was nice being able to visually see the movie, though, instead of just reading the books and picturing it for myself. It was nice to see the books through somebody else's creative lens. The acting was great, and the movie was over-all really good. They just left out a lot of really important details. I would still go and see it, though. Especially if you've never read the book--then you won't even notice that the juicy nice details are missing. -K
