Storyline:
While Gru, the ex-supervillain is adjusting to family life and an attempted honest living in the jam business, a secret Arctic laboratory is stolen. The Anti-Villain League decides it needs an insider's help and recruits Gru in the investigation. Together with the eccentric AVL agent, Lucy Wilde, Gru concludes that his prime suspect is the presumed dead supervillain, El Macho, whose his teenage son is also making the moves on his eldest daughter, Margo. Seemingly blinded by his overprotectiveness of his children and his growing mutual attraction to Lucy, Gru seems on the wrong track even as his minions are being quietly kidnapped en masse for some malevolent purpose.

Very disappointed in the sequel. I was really looking forward to this film as I was so pleasantly surprised with the first movie, but this was just a shell of that movie.

Despicable Me was the last movie to took my late little brother to see. (He passed away before his 12th bday). I went to see Despicable Me 2 in honor of him. This was the first movie I've seen since his passing. It was great! Good belly laughs! I am going to be pre-buying it when it comes out for home! :)

We saw Despicable Me 2 last night. Our 7 year old has been looking forward to this movie for months. We went to the 8:05 show and were surprised by how many adults and teens were in the theater. It was showing on 2 screens and both were sold out. The minions kept us laughing. We loved it!!! We already bought the prerelease of the Blu Ray. :)

If you liked the first Despicable Me, you'll like this one.
Despicable Me 2 is more polished than the original. The CGI is noticeably better and the visuals are more complex. The writers incorporated more parent pleasing humor after the popularity of the first movie with adults.
Steve Carell is amazing as Gru. Kristen Wiig provides the perfect comedic companion. The minions get plenty of crowd pleasing screen time.
I did find the movie to slowdown in two spots. This made the movie seem longer than its 1 hour 38 minute run time. All of the kids in the theater seemed entertained through out the entire run time.
While not as ground breaking as the original, Despicable Me 2 is a great summer movie for kids; however, Monster's University would get my nod if you had to chose between it and Despicable Me 2.
There are minion scenes during the credits and nothing after the credits

I took my 8 year old son to see Despicable Me 2 and we both loved it. The grandfather behind us loved it too...he was cracking up the whole time!:) It's a cute movie.
