A refreshingly intelligent break from the typical science fiction action thriller. Captures the heart of the book including the emotional and personal struggle due to war. I left entertained but also very touched. Will return to see it again!

Despite the fuss over Orson Scott Card's stance on homosexual marriage and other political matters, this is a must see. I know several people are boycotting because of what he said but in my opinion that's foolish. Who gives a crap what he thinks. He is a brilliant writer. Aside from that, I would give the movie an over all 4 to 4.5 stars. That is only because I think it would have been better if they had made two movies instead of one. The first one ending at the lake scene or somewhere in Ender's transition between Battle School and Command School. Asa Butterfield gets 5 stars for his knock out job playing Ender Wiggen. I think anyone who has ever read the book could appreciate the movie just as much if they keep an open mind and give Grace for the inevitable handicaps that come along with making a movie from a book. Have fun kids!

I have to admit, Ender's game surprised me. Admittedly I haven't read the book and didn't want to prior to seeing the movie - given the plot line, I'm glad that this was my path of choice. To be honest, I was expecting Harry Potter and Hunger Games in space. It wasn't. It was great science fiction. Well acted, well directed, well envisioned on a grand scale. Full of all the real life stress, fear, trouble, victory and moral dilemma that any good mature drama can dish out. The movie, like the main character, looks childish on the outside but is indeed all grown up once you engage in the conversation. I loved the film. My kids loved it. Must go! (We'll go again.)

This movie feels like they took a few parts from the book, then made up everything else. This movie may follow about, if i'm being generous, 10% of the information from the book. They could easily have made the movie much more like the book, in the same time frame that they made this ridiculous movie. From the very first scene until the very last scene, they never got a single scene even halfway correct. I have read the book twelve times and will never watch this movie again, if you are going to turn a book into a movie, at least do a somewhat decent job of it. They didn't even leave the movie open for any sequels, so obviously the director knew that it would stink as well. You will only like this movie if you have never read the book, which is a shame since this is a great book. I highly recommend not watching this movie if you have read the book, since it will do nothing except annoy you during every minute of the movie.

I don't want to seem like I'm damning this movie with faint praise, but I think they did the best they could with the material they had in the time frame they had. I really do mean that in a good way-I loved the book, and almost equally loved the movie. It was wonderful finally seeing the battleroom brought to life-the null g effects were spectacular. The kids were all very effective in their roles, and Ford was just this side of scenery chewing as Graff.
