Outstanding movie in terms of historic events, brotherhood, love, deception, challange, power, belief, and fear of the unknown. Action packed and well worth my time and money. This move is for mature adults with understanding of the past, present, and future.

Pompeii reminded me of a sweeping epic from the good old days of Hollywood: starkly good and bad characters; larger-than-life action; and great special effects. I grant you that if indie movies and esoteric(but pretentiously dull as dirt) plots are your gig, then this is not your movie. But if you like doomed love, heroic self-sacrifice, and Mother Nature at her most wrathful....then this is your flick! I plan on going again.

Had that in-between feeling of meh and something else... wasn't really feeling any empathy towards none of the characters, i can't piece it. but it just missed a crucial key. which could've made it great. still a good watch though..

There are movies that you go to for full on immersion. This is one you go to for escape. Forget the parts about historic accuracy and just enjoy the special effects, the escape from reality for a few hours, the fighting scenes. I did not go with the idea of seeing history recreated. I went to simply get away, eat popcorn, and watch something that did not challenge my social, ideological, philosophical or other perspectives. It succeeded! If you are looking for a similar experience Pompeii is a great choice.

I liked this movie a lot. The actors are superb, the action is superb and the idea that Milo risks life and limb to rescue and be with his true love is an appeal for those who want to see romance. So this picture I believe has something for everyone.
