The odd characters were the centerpiece, like the person selling tea for years who turns into a fanatic when his shop is vandalized. The dumb guy who turns out to be not so dumb. Otherwise the story is just ordinary at the most.

I wouldn't say it's the best piece of work I have ever seen but I really enjoyed how they portrayed people's blind beliefs and lack of motive for just about anything...btw, that monkey man incident really happened...what a satirical way to present it.

well, i liked the movie a whole lot but can't say i loved it. there seemed to be 2 plots going on...one in the 1st and one in the 2nd half. possibly the 2nd plot overshadowed the movie. nevertheless, it was an enjoyable experience. acting superb. and of course, ar rahman gave phenomenal music! must hear score! overall i think 3.75 stars.

this movie has a good message.

Don't waist your precious time & money. The story has absolutely no head and tail. The movie should have been instead called Kaala Bandar ~~~ Grrrr....
