Of all the comedies that Billy Bob Thornton has made, this one is probably his second best. Bad Santa, of course, remains the shining star and my favorite holiday movie. Thornton reminds me of the father from the classic song "A Boy Named Sue". His character is very mean-spirited towards those he coaches, as his goal is to make them tough enough to handle life. Seann William Scott does a great job as a well-adjusted adult with everything going for him who is suddenly attacked by his fat, insecure inner child. Dealing with the fact that Mr. Woodcock is dating his mother brings back painful memories of being tormented in gym class. As he looks for a way to resolve the situation, he starts off calmly quoting from his new book "Letting Go of the Past" and trying to mend fences with Woodock. When this doesn't work, he slowly starts to unravel and eventually loses it - trying everything in his power to break-up the couple. Amy Poehler is also great as his publicist. Enjoy!
