Storyline:
After seven years in solitary, Jake Green is released from prison. In the next two years, he amasses a lot of money by gambling. He's ready to seek his revenge on Dorothy (Mr. D) Macha, a violence-prone casino owner who sent Jake to prison. He humiliates Macha in front of Macha's lieutenants, leaves, and keels over. Doctors tell him he has a rare disease and will die in three days; Macha also puts a hit out on him. Loan sharks, Zack and Avi, demand Jake's cash and complete fealty in return for protection. Jake complies, and through narration and flashbacks, we watch him through at least three days of schemes, danger, and redemption. Who is his greatest enemy?

Interesting effort from the director of Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. However, the film is an enormous departure for Guy Ritchie and an ambitious one at that. Don't go expecting to completely understand the film---it will escape you. This movie is layered and nuanced. A twisted tale of self discover amid the madness and paranoia of organized crime.I'm on my way to see it again. Not to be missed but don't expect a wise cracking, rollicking good time. Deep, dark and mysterious are these waters.

What a cruel way to be paid back for taking the day off work. If it weren't for the meal that followed, Revolver would have done a very fine job of ruining my day. A very fine job indeed. What a senseless run of ridiculous notions...so much so... that you feel as if you are a crazy person for sitting there trying to figure out what point the flick is trying to make and what ludicrous direction it is heading. Once the pain is finally over, you realize you may not be crazy but certainly a fool for staying to the end...the end filled with all it's emptiness. I'm not sure what kind of drugs Guy Ritchie was on while writing this loser but I think I'll need a strong dose of it before I find myself considering another one of his not-so-masterpieces. Check please.
