I just saw the press preview of this superbly scripted well-crafted, coolly-engineered intelligent movie that contains a barely veiled anti-war stance. MARVEL Ent. and Paramount Pictures managed to hit all the right nuts, bolts, screws and buttons on this one. Great origins story! Robert Downey Jr. (charismatic and compelling) is Tony Stark - a mega-wealthy industrialist who turned superhero after a harrowing ordeal and experiencing profound epiphany. His character is multi-dimensional - conflicted, arrogant, intelligent, irresponsible, responsible, etc. Gwyneth Paltrow was superb as Tony Stark's 'right hand woman' - competent, intelligent, organized, loyal, efficient and classy. Jeff Bridges excelled as the antagonist. IRON MAN(peppered with timely humor) grips you tightly riveted to the seat as it dazzles you with awesome special effects/CGI/sets. You will be left wanting for more! Sorry, no plot details here. I don't want to spoil it for you. GO SEE IT!

I was skeptical at first being that I never followed Iron Man comics but after reading reviews I decided to go. It was like a breath of fresh air. This is definitely worth going to see.

Whether it's the terse and witty remarks, the incredible visual effects, awe-inspiring (yet remarkably plausible) storyline, or the deep character development, Iron Man strikes it rich on all counts. In the leading role as Tony Stark, Robert Downey, Jr. is nothing less than amazing; he really nails his character. RDJ isn't the only bright-shining star in this film, however, with wonderful performances on all ends by Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard, and Gwyneth Paltrow; the character casting and chemistry really makes this movie something special. Catering to all tastes, the movie overflows with comedy, drama, and action galore; and with a more modern take of the 45 year old storyline, yet still ripe with the core ingredients that has made Iron Man a favorite hero for decades, it will most certainly appeal to both old-time fans and uninformed viewers alike. All-in-all, this film is a must-see. Marvel's Iron Man reflects both greatness and big plans for the superhero genre.

I saw a private screening today, and the hype is for real. This movie is great! Downey Jr. is perfectly cast as billionaire industrialist Tony Stark. I was familiar with the original Iron Man storyline, and the few changes do a good job to update the character and his motivations. Entire cast works well. The technology presented is entirely believable and the CGI blends perfectly with the film. See it!
