I saw this movie last night and I thought it was done really well. The beginning is a little slow (a couple is just getting home after being at a friends wedding...they're not on good terms with each other). Then there is a knock at the door. From that point on it just gets scarier. It's not the SAW or SEVEN kind of scary or gross and it's not the TEEN type of scary like I Know What You Did Last Summer or Scream. This movie really gives a real sense of scared to death. What's scarier is the people who are torturing them... "Why are you doing this to us?" And all one of them says..."Because you were home." That is the hardest part to get your head around...the thought that this was a random act...not someone you know...and that there could be a chance someone like this could pick you for their next act. Just scary.

I just saw the press screening for this 1 3/4 hr intense movie. This suspense/thriller has plenty of terror unashamedly served-up by writer/director Bryan Bertino in a tale that was inspired by a supposedly true-life event. The movie spoke volumes about the sheer senselessness of random violent crimes. But other than that....... the story as written by Bryan Bertino lacks logic and suffers from unrealistic portrayals of people caught in fearful situations and as to how they would react in such situations. I resisted the urge to get up and walk out of the theater merely because I wanted to see how the movie would end. I am NOT likely going to see another Bryan Bertino's written or directed effort. Both Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman were competently convincing in their respective roles. I hope that they will be more discriminating in their future choices of movies to act in. Recommendation: Go see it if you must but better to just wait for the DVD. GRADE: C

The SCARIEST movie of the summer and possibly the scariest I've ever seen!! The Suspense kills and its not like other scary movies with happy miracle endings. I was screaming in the theater like I was the one being knifed! and the masks they wear are REDICULOUSLY scary. Must go if you like being scared.

This movie keeps you jumping with "Blair Witch" style suspense. Very similar to the French made "Them". Liv Tyler is fantastic at relaying true terror to the viewer. Rarely is there the "traditional" cheesy Hollywood movie horror film predictibility. Overall, the movie uses simple tactics to scare the be-Jesus out of you. There is a lot left to the mind. Definitely go and see it.

I know a lot of people are saying negative things about this movie but it truly is intense and disturbing. Especially the last couple of minutes... don't worry this isn't a spoiler I'm not giving anything away. Very good flick. The pop up scares got to me, but the long drawn out tension building scenes got me even more. There is this one scene that made my heart beat so fast I felt like I was in the movie. I think when movies are close to reality they freak me out more than the gore ****that's overloading Hollywood these days. I truly enjoyed this movie and recommend to all horror fans.
