After having been rewarded for solving the mystery of the Pink Panther Diamond, inspector Jacques Clouseau has been assigned to minor tasks by his boss inspector Dreyfus so as not to have him in his way anymore. Unfortunately, the famous diamond has once again been stolen as have many other artifacts in a series of burglaries around the world. His past success will enable inspector Clouseau to be part of the dream team comprised of the greatest detectives of the affected countries, where he will be able to display his numerous talents across the world.

With an extra man looking after base camp, Simon and Joe set off to scale the mount in one long push over several days. The peak is reached, however on the descent Joe falls and breaks his leg. Despite what it means, the two continue with Simon letting Joe out on a rope for 300 meters, then descending to join him and so on. However when Joe goes out over an overhang with no way of climbing back up, Simon makes the decision to cut the rope. Joe falls into a crevasse and Simon, assuming him dead, continues back down. Joe however survives the fall and was lucky to hit a ledge in the crevasse. This is the story of how he got back down.

An earthquake measuring 9.5 on the Richter Scale splits California into an island with a perpetual dustcloud hanging over it. Film opens during the Second World War where a German destroyer escort seizes a small barge that transports coal. The crew, two Russians, hide under piles of coal. One, stoker Anatoli, is forced at gun point to give up the other man then to kill Tikhon, his mate and Captain only to be left to die in an explosion. Anatoli survives and is rescued by monks then time elapses to 1976. He now works in the monastery as the stoker of cloister boiler room and conveys a wheelbarrow with coal each day. He sleeps on the heap of coal and even plans to bury himself in the carbon box as his coffin. His strangeness confuse his fellow monks and some call him a prankster. But in each such wild trick there is sense to the madness and unworldly insight. People arrive on the island from all around the region, seeking Anatoli as a Holy man capable of wise advice and able to curse sickness. All the while he suffers...

Al Percolo is a major league baseball scout sent to scout in Mexico as a punishment. However, he eventually stumbles across Steve Nebraska, a young American who can pitch AND hit better than anyone else can do either. He signs Steve and returns home in glory. It soon becomes obvious, though, that Steve is immature and possibly unstable, and Al turns to psychiatrist Doctor H. Aaron, whom he picks for her name, for help.
