The first thing you notice about Tony Murphy is his 6' 4" frame. He certainly knows how to fill that screen! Despite this, one of his many claims to fame is that he was cast in a role originally written for a dwarf (true story). Now, that's what I call versatility. He has dedicated himself to acting since 1998 when he started a three year Diploma in Performance for Screen and Theatre in Liberties College, Dublin. Since then he has honed his skills with Advanced and Masterclass courses in film acting with Vinney Murphy and Terry McMahon, respectively. After completing college, Tony started off with smaller roles in feature films such as 'Veronica Geurin' and 'About Adam' as well as a long list of leading roles in short films such as 'Tango in D Minor' and 'Interrogation Room'. More recently, he has the lead role in the TV docu-drama 'Death or Canada' (Tile Productions) as well as being the face of the the Guinness Hurling Championship TV and poster campaign in the summer of 2007 (Gavin Kelly, Director). Tony's latest projects include the TV drama 'On God's Mission' (Tyrone Productions), the feature film 'Charlie Cassanova' (Terry McMahon, Director) and the lead in short film, 'Bogged Down', (BarTonInc Productions).
