Garrison Koch was born the Son of Jack and Christine Koch in Burbank, California. Along with his sister Jenifer, Garrison traveled with his parents across the U.S. in a mobile home until he was 5, They finally settled in Livermore, California. While he struggled with his academics, he excelled in athletics and the arts. Liking movies ever since he was child, he didn't know that he even wanted to be an actor until he started doing it. "I never thought I could even be an actor until a friend took me to my first acting class in San Francisco." The classes paid off and from there he was casted in his first acting gig, for Don Johnsons "Nash Bridges" that was filmed right there in San Francisco. Knowing that if he was really serious about acting, he had to move to Los Angeles. After his first audition with writer/director Mark Schwab, he landed the part of Lance in Pins and Needles. The film was accepted in the NY International independent Film festival for which Garrison won Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film. While attending the Sundance Film Festival, Garrison had a fateful encounter with actor James Cromwell, who told him to write, and produce his own work or Hollywood would eat him alive. So he, along with his long time friend Todd Szuch, and Danny Lepthien started 'Active Submissions' which has grown into one of the largest online talent marketing solutions for the entertainment industry. And now 'Active Submissions' is now being used by such industry heavyweights as William Morris Agency, Management 360, Flutie Entertainment and Endeavor. Garrison has landed parts in The O.C., Girlfriends, Cutting Room (two time award winner in the Milan Film Festival '06), and Somebody Help Me, Directed by Chris Stokes and co-starring with Omarion and Marques Houston, which premiered at the historic Grauman's Chinese Theatre this past October.
