Undaunted by a childhood in the projects, and under her mother's watchful eye, Stephanie Andujar poured her drive and creativity into a life-changing after school program. This early exposure led to her professional debut as the Scarecrow in the "Wiz" at the tender age of 13. A Manhattan Native, Ms. Andujar has continued to further her acting career with performances in theatre productions, independent / short films and with guest starring roles on NBC's "Law & Order:SVU and "Mercy." Her break through came with a pivotal role in the award winning film "Precious," based on the novel PUSH by Sapphire and directed by the critically acclaimed Lee Daniels. Set in the 1980's, Ms. Andujar portrayed Rita Romero, a former heroine addict mother, who befriends the protagonist Precious. Always eager to demonstrate her facility in both comedic and dramatic roles, Ms. Andujar is known for her willingness to take risks and for pushing the interpretive boundaries of each and every character. Whether on stage or screen, she is driven to find the truth in every role and to make that truth come alive.
Acquired her Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management at Pace University in New York City.Worked at the Marriott Hotel in the Housekeeping department for an internship while attending Pace University. In hopes of possibly becoming a manager in that department.Trained in singing by Celeste Simone.
