Julissa Lopez was born and raised in New York where she also discovered her love for the theatre. She trained at HB Studio, Stella Adler Conservatory and with Kelly Kimball. She was quickly cast as the lead in the hit play "Platanos & Collard Greens" and toured the U.S.. The most exciting experience at the time was performing at the Florence Ghould Hall. She continued to work in several other plays while working as a print model. She modeled for Curve perfume, T-mobile, Microsoft and a several fashion magazines. She got her SAG card by being cast in a Dennys commercial with Pauly Walnuts from the Sopranos. Julissa was cast by music video director Dale Resteghini as the lead for the rock group "Candiria" which was shot in Washington Heights. She wanted to expand into film and began working on Independent films with directors James Tucker and Luis Alberto Cabrera. In 2005, TV Guide Magazine Group was holding a national talent contest called "The Inside TV National Contest" where thousands auditioned around the country and Julissa won the big prize. She was rewarded with an all expense paid trip to Hollywood and worked on the set of "Girlfriends". This led her to move to L.A. where she signed with Oneill Talent Group. Soon after she booked a co-star on the Lifetime TV show "The Protector" and started performing on stage again. She recently performed various comedic characters in a play festival at CASA 0101 Theatre in Los Angeles. The plays were written by Josephina Lopez.
