Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Juan Pablo is the third son of artist Marta Maineri and Victorio Di Pace. He has lived in Spain, Italy and England. At 17 he was award ed a scholarship to the exclusive United World College of the Adriatic in Trieste and later studied theatre at the London Studio Centre. Before graduating he was cast in Walter Bobbie's London production of Chicago, becoming the youngest ever person to play the role of Billy Flynn. A series of appearances followed in films Alfie (Charles Shyer) and Piccadilly Jim (John McKay) before he landed in 2004 the leading role of Manuel on island thriller Three (Stewart Raffill) opposite Billy Zane. The following year Juan starred in music video Call On Me for Eric Prytz which became the biggest selling video of the year due to its shocking nature and became Scotland's runaway hero after playing Luca Rossi for one season on River City for the BBC. That year Juan directed his first short film, La Belleza, which achieved acclaim from the Scottish press and in 2006 he starred as Felipe in Aftersun, a BBC film written by David Nicholls inspired by Albee's play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?".
