Andrew Jones is a Welsh screenwriter,producer and director. He is the owner of Swansea based film production company North Bank Entertainment. Jones began his career by writing and directing two feature films "Teenage Wasteland" (2006) and "The Feral Generation" (2007) which both won Best Film award s at UK film festivals. After venturing into the horror genre with screenwriting commissions for KOA Entertainment and Thunderball Films, Jones set up North Bank Entertainment to produce 2-4 low budget genre feature films per year for the Home Entertainment market in the UK and North America. North Bank teamed up with Mad Science Films and financiers Independent Moving Pictures for the company's first production "Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection" (2012), a British remake of the 1968 zombie classic. The project was shot on location in South Wales with Jones serving as co-writer and producer. The film was acquired by Grindstone Entertainment Group and Lionsgate Home Entertainment for North American distribution. 4Digital Media acquired the UK distribution rights and the film opened on Friday 30th November 2012 in a limited UK theatrical release through major multiplex Cineworld followed by a multi platform Home Entertainment release in 2013. North Bank Entertainment reunited with Mad Science Films and Independent Moving Pictures for "Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming" (2012), a remake of the cult slasher film "Silent Night, Bloody Night" (1974). Filming took place in South Wales with a cast that included "Friday the 13th" (1980) horror icon Adrienne King. Jones once again served as co-writer and producer. UK distribution rights were acquired by 101 Films with Elite Entertainment taking North American and International rights. North Bank collaborated with Independent Moving Pictures for a third time on "The Amityville Asylum" (2013), a psychological horror film loosely connected to the real life 1974 DeFeo murder case. Jones wrote, produced and directed the film. UK distribution rights were acquired by 4Digital Media for a multi platform release in 2013. Andrew Jones' other screenwriting credits include Robomonkey Productions' "Death House Dolls", an adaptation of the best selling novel "A Study in Red: The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper" and Ruggero Deodato's "The House on the Edge of the Park Part II". He has also contributed articles on horror films and the film industry to the UK movie website Andy Erupts. Future projects include writing, producing and directing "The Midnight Horror Show" (2014)
Worked as a Painter & Decorator to raise 1,500 for the budget of his first feature 'Teenage Wasteland'.Wrote the script for his first feature 'Teenage Wasteland' in three days.His debut film 'Teenage Wasteland' won the award for Best Film Under 75 Minutes at the 2006 Swansea Bay Film Festival.Spent time with homeless people and heroin addicts in his hometown of Swansea researching his second feature 'The Feral Generation'. Many of the stories relayed to him during that period later appeared in the screenplay for the film.Founding member, alongside Keri Collins, of Masterplan Film Productions Ltd.Is a big fan of horror films, his particular favourite being Wes Craven's 'Last House On The Left'. He has paid visual homages to the film in both 'Teenage Wasteland' and 'The Feral Generation'.Wrote the script for 'The Beautiful Outsiders' during a two week break in filming on 'The Feral Generation'.Also a musician.His second film 'The Feral Generation' won the award for Best UK Feature Film at the 2008 Swansea Life Film Festival.Wrote a script for a remake of 1974 cult horror classic Chi Sei? (a.k.a 'Beyond the Door' and 'The Devil Within Her') for KOA Entertainment in 2008.Spoke with convicted murderer and former Manson Family member Bobby Beausoleil as part of his research for the script of 'Manson'. Beausoleil was convicted in 1970 of the murder of Gary Hinman, the murder that set in motion the events leading to the infamous "Helter Skelter" killings.Commissioned in 2008 to write and direct a remake of 1979 horror classic 'The Driller Killer' starring 'Last House on the Left' cult actor David Hess in the lead role. The film re-located Abel Ferrara's original story about a psychotic artist from New York to London. However, the project never got into production after a financial dispute between the Executive Producers could not be resolved.Founded production company North Bank Entertainment Ltd with long time collaborator Ian Grey in 2010.
