Amber Midthunder is an enrolled tribal member of the Ft Peck Sioux Indian Reservation. Her first speaking role in a feature film was in a scene with Alan Arkin just days before winning his Oscar when she was only 8 years old. Since that time she has continued her work as an actress in film and television as well as co-writing and co-directing her first award winning short film at the age of 16. She co-directed a short film entitled "#nightsikethese" with the daughter of director Chris Eyre. Her directorial debut short film "Don't" won in its category at its premiere screening at the 2013 Native Cinema Showcase presented by Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. Enrolled Native American tribal member of the Lakota-Sioux tribe. Amber is of mixed ethnicities including Asian, European, and Native American. Daughter of actor David Midthunder.
