Saudiq Baoku is a British actor and singer. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria on 21st August 1990 to Nigerian parents and moved to the United Kingdom when he was just three months old. He grew up in Stockwell in South London and attended Stockwell Primary School where he learned to play drums, following which he then attended Westminster City School and was involved in various school productions during the school's International Evening which was once a year. In 2002, he had his first performing experience when he attended a Summer School at the BFI Southbank (formerly known as the National Film Theatre) where he took part in a film project called 'The International Face of the Moon'. he was involved in various school productions. In 2009, he had is first taste of singing in front of an audience at a Talent Show called 'Lambeth's Got Talent' that was held at his first college, Lambeth College where he sang Elton John's 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' from The Lion King. He went on to study a two-year HND Performing Arts course at West Thames College followed by a one year course Performance and Events Productions at Teesside University in order to get his Bachelors. He graduated with an overall grade of 2.1. He won a Jack Petchey in 2007 for best effort. He auditioned to perform at the 2012 Olympics but did not make it through to the next round. He studied Business Studies at College before deciding to branch into Performing Arts at University. Performed a devised play called Hide and Seek at the 12th Prague Fringe Festival in 2013 and was the time he performed abroad.
