Mark Cartier was born in North Dakota and raised in northern Minnesota. After attending the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, he was moved to Los Angeles California by his then agent and manager, where he was enrolled at The Los Angeles Film School as a Paul Verhoeven scholarship winner. A multiple award winning writer/director, Mark was given his first job out of the Sundance Film Festival by Kerry McCluggage , former Chairman of Paramount Television. While at Paramount Pictures, he found himself immersed in the world of development. Working as a Creative Executive, Mark's first mentor was producer David Foster , who taught him that hard work makes good luck.
