Lisner's love of theatre began at the age of eight while studying speech at the Trinity College of London with Ms Joyce Foreman. Lisner continued with Foreman for seven years. In that time, she appeared in numerous plays. This included J M Barrie's Peter Pan, playing the role of Tinker bell. Lisner has had extensive training as an actor. It continued in Sydney at The Ensemble Theatre under the direction of the late Broadway legend Hayes Gordon .In that time Lisner worked with Hayes, Lorrane Desmond, Zika Nester and Daniel James just to name a few. In recent years Lisner has been studying at the Melbourne Actors Lab with Peter Kalos. Lisner works with Anna Mc Crossin- Owen (MTC) for her dialect training. When Lisner wanted to learn gun safety and handling skills she went to veteran armourer John Fox. Lisner received a certificate of competency which is rarely given by Fox. As a platinum MEAA member and on the board of WIFT Vic (Women in Films and TV), Lisner is known for advocating change. Qualities Naomi values are gender equity, ageism and diversity.. Lisner would also like to see on Apparently So a mixed crew including a female director. Last year Lisner was happy to be back on stage playing the role of Bones in the theatre production of Beyond the Barriers which she performed for Fringe Festival. It was directed by Yma Zammitt Ross. Recently Lisner played the role of an Orthodox Jew in the feature Blue Grace (Yiddish accent) directed by Daniel Andrusiak, Roberta Crowe in Bluebird (US accent) directed by Derek Erskine. In June Lisner plays the role of Barbara Tresslow in The Lucifer Killings directed by Gary O'Toole .Last year Lisner played Sally the art teacher in Innuendo written and directed by Saara Lamberg .John Fox(armourer) asked Lisner to appear in his music video Rock and Roll Star .It took out first place Akademia music awards in Los Angeles. Lisner has completed her first screen play called Apparently So. Lisner will be playing the lead role with well known broadcaster and presenter George Donikan playing the role of her husband in Apparently So. Lisner and Donikan are great friends since working together in the short film Caravans for Refugees. Lisner has finished writing the sequel entitled Lucy Blooms ,in which she will also play the lead role. A platinum MEAA member, Lisner plans to cast with diversity.This is a universal story that will have wide appeal. Lisner was appointed a judge for the POP International Film Festival featuring the best of local and international films for this annual event. In late 2015 Lisner registered the name DFUA Productions and intends on producing and co producing many projects starting with Apparently So. In choosing a logo for her company, Lisner chose a seagull, which is a nickname her eldest son Jake had given her many years ago. In Native American spirituality seagulls are regarded as spiritual messengers that indicate a higher communication with spirit guides. Because seagull's see above situations with higher clarity, they can teach us that there are many perspectives to consider. Gulls show a sense of friendship and community and the co- operation that is needed for the whole to operate successfully. Lisner firmly believes that everyone on her sets is an equal, as in life. That whether you have the lead role, director or work as an extra that everyone is treated with respect and kindness. Known for never mincing her words, Lisner knows that everyone on set is important to make up a story and holds a strong rule of - no diva's allowed.
