Born in Arcadia, California, and moved to Minnesota at 11 years old, Peter Breitmayer is a hybrid California/hearty Midwestern lad. He graduated from Rosemount High School, south of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) in Minnesota, in 1983. His BA is in Theology from Gustavus Adolphus College, and his esoteric thesis on Process Theodicy makes for a good casual read...he's at least as proud of it as he is his college stage work. He started his professional acting career at Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop (the "Second City of Minneapolis" since 1955) in 1988, as a company actor/writer/improviser, and made people laugh and think for 3 1/2 years. He worked in numerous professional Theatres in the area over the next eight years, did dozens of OC and VO Commercials, and landed roles in several Hollywood produced films shooting in the state (Drop Dead Fred, Jingle All the Way...). His greatest moment up to that point was playing Sheriffs Deputy Phil Bender, in the schlocky made for TV movie The Stranger Within, and having Kate Jackson (the Smart "Angel") lay on him in an open grave for 3 hours of shooting after Rick Schroader's character hit him in the head with a hammer. He moved to LA in 1996 and has since worked regularly in television, film and commercials, his most recent roles being on Boston Legal and The Unit, Executive Produced by David Mamet. He can be seen belittling Jim Carrey in Fun with Dick and Jane. During the last several years Peter has also continued his stage career, acting in award winning productions in LA as well as touring Nationally and to Dublin, Ireland with the long running hit show Triple Espresso. He resides in North Hollywood with his peculiar and beautiful wife, Photographer Michelle Pedersen, and his son Jackson Karl, born January 5, 2005.
