Born in Ciego De Avila, Cuba, Hannia Guillen attended the Mariana Grajales Musical Institute, where she learned to play piano and sing when she was eight years old. Even at an early age, signs pointed toward Hannia's considerable emerging artistic talents.When she was ten, Hannia and her family relocated to Miami, Florida. She studied modern dance and was a member of the band color guard in high school.A professional actor, aware of her artistic background, advised her to meet mentor Teresa Maria Rojas.Hannia's introduction to acting came through Rojas, who had received recognition for founding the first Spanish-speaking theatre program in the United States. Next came Miami Dade College, where Rojas became her teacher and mentor. In acting, Hannia found love at first sight and subsequently starred in five critically acclaimed theatrical stage productions and later received her Associate of Arts Degree. She augmented her acting with further studies at Florida International University, where she majored in theatre.Hannia also found time to model in Miami, capturing the cover of "Conexiones Magazine." Additionally, she enjoyed a brief hosting career with prominent Miami-based television shows including Telemundo Network's "Frecuencia" (2005).This stunning, dynamic young actress quickly garnered attention from local casting directors Lori Wyman and Ellen Jacoby, who cast Hannia in her first Union motion picture, Mysterious (2007).
