Alfonso DiLuca was born in the Dominican Republic on August 8, 1963, the youngest of three children. A talented, versatile and enterprising actor, he grew up in an artistic milieu; his grandmother was a composer and writer, his mother a painter, so it should be no surprise that from early age he was interested in writing poetry and short stories (as a university student, he was to receive a literary prize) and acting.Shortly after graduating from University with a degree in Economics, he moved to Miami, Florida, where he established and ran his own travel agency, providing him with an opportunity for world travel. After 8 years as an entrepreneur, he embarked on an acting career, playing roles in local theater. An agent who saw him perform offered him work in commercials; he has subsequently been in over 50 of them.Alfonso's career has since taken off; he has played a wide range of roles. His theatrical work includes lead roles in A Park in Our House and The Sweet Bird of Youth (El Dulce Pajaro de la Juventud). He co-starred in a number of soap operas, including, Ladron de Corazones, Prisionera and La Viuda de Blanco; since they are translated into multiple languages, his renown extends beyond Hispanic countries.Alfonso (2008) currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
