Brian Tyler is known for his work on Iron Man 3 (2013), Thor - The Dark Kingdom (2013) and Fast & Furious Five (2011).
His grandfather, art director Walter H. Tyler , was nominated for the Academy Award 9 times and won the award in 1951 for Cecil B. DeMille 's Samson und Delilah (1949). His score for Last Call (2002) was nominated for a 2002 Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition. He was nominated for "Discovery of the Year" at the 2002 World Soundtrack Awards for his score for the movie, Dämonisch (2001). Tyler's themes from Children of Dune (2003) have been used several times for different theatrical trailers. These include the trailers for Master & Commander - Bis ans Ende der Welt (2003), Sahara - Abenteuer in der Wüste (2005), Das Comeback (2005), Die Chroniken von Narnia - Der König von Narnia (2005), Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels (2008), and The Nine - Die Geiseln (2006) TV series. Martin Scorsese 's film Aviator (2004) used Brian Tyler's music from Paparazzi (2004) in its theatrical trailers. Attended Harvard University for graduate school and UCLA for undergraduate school. Often conducts the London Symphony Orchestra and the Hollywood Studio Symphony for his film scores. He was nominated for Film Composer of the Year in 2009 by the International Film Music Critics Association and ranked as one of the top film composers of 2009 by Film Score Monthly. Tyler was inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (music branch) in 2010. Tyler was nominated for Film Composer of the Year by the International Film Music Critics Association in 2009.
