Popular Iranian-American Actor, Writer, Producer, David Diaan AKA FARIBORZ was born in Tehran, Iran during the glory days prior to The Islamic Revolution. He moved to the United States to continue his studies in radio and television at the University of Missouri but never returned to his homeland due to the changes in the social and political environment. David's first endeavor in the entertainment world began as he founded Liquid Productions theater group in Los Angeles, which staged a series of successful satirical plays in California and New York. This project also introduced other talents such as popular stand-up comedian Maz Jobrani "The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour". In 1996 and 1997, David starred in the XTV sketch comedy television program. By the year 2001 he focused most of his attention into featured films, he co-produced and took the lead role alongside Shohreh ghdashloo "House of Sand and Fog" and Atossa Leoni "The Kite Runner" in America So Beautiful (2001), directed by Babak Shokrian, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. In 2002, he served as executive producer and starred in the feature film, The Dogwalker, directed by Jacques Telemaque, Dogwalker premiered at the 2002 Los Angeles Film Festival. In 2003 despite the Islamic Republic of Iran's strict laws and surveillance of public and private life, he traveled to his homeland of Iran and filmed, directed and produced the documentary Iran Is My Home. The film was an entry in the documentary competition at The IFP Los Angeles Film Festival. His screenplay entitled "The Apology" won first prize in the 2004 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. In 2005, he produced and starred in the âtheatrical play The 99 cent family which has enjoyed close to 100 performances in US and Canada. In 2006 he appeared in The Ten (2007) with Paul Rodd. In January 2007, he founded Sublime Entertainment, âwhich produced the feature film Otis E. (2007). In Otis E. he starred alongside Kevin Durand, Peter Stormare and James Gammon which was directed by Jeff Daniel Phillip. David is currently working on his upcoming one man show named "I vill survive" due in 2008 and will be appearing in NBC's new TV-series "Quarterlife directed by Eric Stoltz.
His screenplay, "The Apology", co-written by Amir Ohebsion and Babak Shokrian, took first place in the 2004 Slamdance Film Festival Screenplay Competition, announced at the Writer's Guild of America in Los Angeles.
