Jing Lusi was born in Shanghai and moved to England with her parents at the age of five. She first appeared on stage when she was 10 at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, alongside Phillip Schofield in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'. Lusi's debut appearance in film was in the award winning feature film Breathe (2009/I) alongside Ricci Harnett. In 2009, Lusi played the lead Princess Li Hua in KRU Studios' 'The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines'. The role had already been cast in Asia, but after a chance meeting in a London workshop with Stephen Rahman-Hughes, who was signed to play the hero Merong, she was put forward to the studio and eventually won the part. Lusi recently finished filming on the feature Jack Falls (2011) with Jason Flemyng, Dexter Fletcher and Tamer Hassan.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, and speaks basic Japanese.In 'Breathe', Lusi auditioned for the minor role of Diane, but was offered the lead role of Lauren. In 'Jack Falls', she auditioned for Xanthe, but was offered the more substantial role of Carly.Has appeared in high profile commercial campaigns such as Diet Coke and Greenpeace.Keen rock climber and fan of Bikram yoga.Graduated from UCL with a 2:1 degree in law.
