Joshua Butler graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television having written and directed the award -winning short Will Work for Food (1995). In 1999, he directed USA Network/Sci Fi Channel's original series "G vs E" (1999), and his episode "Renunciation", among other raves, received an A- in Entertainment Weekly. After directing more episodes of that series, he began directing the USA/Sci Fi Channel shows "The Invisible Man" (2000) and "The Huntress" (2000). He then directed four movies for USA/Sci Fi: Beer Money (2001) (TV) written by Rich Wilkes , who also wrote the hit movie xXx (2002); Prancer Returns (2001) (V) produced by Raffaella De Laurentiis , which won Best Family Movie at the Young Artist Award s among many other honors; Saint Sinner (2002) (TV), written and produced by Clive Barker , which was nominated for an International Horror Guild Award ; and Deathlands (2003) (TV), which was directed and produced by Joshua in association with his former production company Kinetic Pictures. Joshua was also co-executive producer of ESPN's first original film A Season on the Brink (2002) (TV) and the MTV hit My Super Psycho Sweet 16 (2009) (TV), which has spawned 2 successful sequels that Joshua also produced. Recently, Joshua Butler wrote and directed Vlog (2008/I), a feature film for Twisted Pictures, the producers of Saw (2004). After its premiere at the Hollywood Film Festival, Vlog (2008/I) went on to play 20 film festivals and will be released on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment for Halloween of 2011. Joshua just completed directing 4 episodes of the hit CW show "The Vampire Diaries" (2009) and in addition to more episodes of that series, Joshua will direct Kevin Williamson 's new series "The Secret Circle" (2011) in the fall of 2011.
