Born in Quebec City, Michael was fortunate enough to grow up in diverse regions of the world and across 4 continents. After pursuing his academic scholarship at The University of Montreal, the multilingual actor joined The Dome Theatre in 2004 (Alumni 2007 - Merit of Excellence). His innate talent and natural sensitivity were recognized immediately as the faculty called upon the young actor to interpret the leading role in all of their 5 productions. He received both classical and contemporary theatre training - interpreting such roles as Shakespeare's Orlando in As You Like It (2006), David Edgar's Professor Katz in Pentecost (2007), and Tennessee William's Valentine Xavier in Orpheus Descending (2007). Upon graduation, Repercussion Theatre immediately snapped up Mando for the title role in Moliere's physical comedy, Les Fourberies de Scapin (2007). The company successfully led the promising team to its first bilingual production all the while earning a record breaking 5 MECCA nominations. After taking a few months off to tour China, Mando succeeded by interpreting a character 10 years his elder, in the award nominated drama Relative Good (2008 - Centaur Theatre). His film & television success immediately followed as he completed a series of contracts on such shows as Flashpoint (2009), The Bridge (2010), The Border (2010), the HBO mini-series Bloodletting And Miraculous Cures (2010), the feature Territories (2010) and King (2011), among others. Up coming credits include a recurring character in new french drama-comedy Les Blues de Ramville (2011), and voice and motion capture work for a couple of undisclosed Ubisoft video games. Michael is also the Artistic Director and Founder of Red Barlo Productions, a Canadian film and television company which has produced Conditional Affection (2010) and Abyss of The Mind (2011).
