Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Discovered and contracted by MGM for films appearing in a number of minor roles for about a decade. More prominent roles occurred in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and Love Letters (1945).Owned Sully Engineering from 1944-1949; was made executive with Raymond Loewy Associates, U.S. and International design from 1951-1953; then associate designer at Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall from 1953-1961.Earned his Masters and Ph.D from Claremont Graduate School.Moved to Santa Barbara from L.A. in 1992 and taught courses at UCSB's College of Creative Studies, "Creative Thinking...The Magic of Ideas" and "Advertising and Culture".He earned his Masters and Ph.D from Claremont Graduate School.In 1961, he founded the Argonaut Company, specializing in design and planning for commercial, industrial and residential projects.
