After toiling in Los Angeles for five years, optioning two as of yet unproduced screenplays and producing his first feature (Calvin Lee Reeder's "The Oregonian - Official Selection, 2011 Sundance Film Festival), former photojournalist Scott Honea returned to his Texas roots in 2010. Immediately after returning, Honea wrote and produced "Believe You Me," which also marked his feature directorial debut . Financed primarily on credit cards and money made from selling vintage t-shirts, the production and its skeleton crew filmed over the course of 14 days in the houses and businesses of friends and relatives in the small town of Corsicana, Texas. Honea is currently (as of May, 2011) based in Austin, Texas where he is preparing to submit the film to festivals.
