Storyline:
FIX takes you from Beverly Hills to Watts, and places in between, in one day, as documentary filmmakers Bella and Milo race to get Milo's brother Leo from jail to rehab before 8pm, or Leo goes to prison for three years. Inspired by true events, we follow the trio as they document their trip from a suburban police station in Calabasas through mansions in Beverly Hills, East LA chop-shops, rural wastelands, and housing projects in Watts as they attempt to raise the $5,000 required to get Leo into the rehab clinic. Along the way the audience meets dozens of colorful characters, each with their own anomalous perspective on Leo's larger than life personality and style, and each with their own excuse for why they cannot help out. In the end, it may take a drug deal to get the necessary funds for rehab.

The Deepwater Horizon oil rig, owned by BP, sunk on Earth Day 2010. We watched the oil gush out of the pipe thousands of feet below the surface for months, and watched BP try to squirm their way out of responsibility for the worst oil spill in US history. But then all the oil went away, and everything is wonderful again. Right? Wrong! This film shows what happened when the media went home, and what's still happening there now. The most amazing team of oil policy experts and government officials ever assembled for a documentary, along with some entirely likeable Louisiana residents whose lives and livelihoods have been destroyed, tell the whole story. The well is still leaking, access is still limited, and the gulf is still dying. This is one of the better investigative documentaries I have ever seen. You'll learn so much that you had no way of knowing based on what the media was telling us.

Really enjoyed this documentary. Well filmed, well written, well received. Came away feeling empowered to spread the word and do the work to get mankind back in the good graces of the planet we inhabit. If we fail at this, we fail at everything. Peak Oil and Climate Change are the ONLY things all governments of the world should be working on right now. Everything else is just fluff.

This will open your eyes, and change your heart. The scathing documentary "The Big Fix" investigates questions of corporate negligence and political corruption surrounding last year's Deepwater Horizon oil spill and its lingering aftereffects on the Gulf Coast. Even before the devastating spill off the coast of Louisiana, BP — the British company that operated the Deepwater Horizon — had racked up numerous safety violations, as well as deadly explosions and ruptured pipelines in Texas and Alaska. Filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell, however, have more than one villain in their sights. Branching out from the April 2010 spill, they paint a portrait of a political system so corrupted by the oil and gas industry that it has rendered Louisiana less a state in our union than an "oil colony."

It is well done, very engaging and crucially important for you to see. If you eat seafood, if you eat chicken, if you care, you must doubly see it.
